Hi Fellow HCPL Bloggers, When my sons come home for a visit they will surely be impressed that their ancient mother has a blog and has now used flickr. Someday when I have grandchildren I will have more interest in sharing photos with them. Of courseI will enjoy sending photos of my first daffodils of the Spring to my sister in Vermont, when she is still getting snow storms. I don't know if my oven counts as new technology, but I am discovering new functions on the touch screen. We have come a long way from campfires.

First Try

I have just finished listening to the 7 1/2 habits of of highly successful learners with our newest addition to BA, Anne Checkai. This encouraged both of us to make comments to each other about each bulleted item. As librarians we realized that we are already lifelong learners, as we learn something new every day! Melissa

Rose happenings

My roses have been outstanding this year and are now preparing to fight off the Japanese beetles. My best defense has always been simply dropping them into soapy water. Does anyone else have any suggestions for warding them off? I usually sacrifice several blooms to the beetles every morning as I cut fresh roses for sharing with friends. RRL
